Overview

Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) Engineer for a leading provider of secure, connected data centers and cloud solutions with one of the largest most geographically diversified footprints in the nation. Fast paced, dynamic environment, supporting a rapidly growing solution and pillar product at Tierpoint. A Tierpoint DRaaS Engineer works directly with customers to ensure successful replication of systems to recovery sites and to deliver successful and organized rehearsals using various block level replication technologies with very low Recover Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). The DRaaS Engineer will guide customers through the preparation, planning, and delivery of successful rehearsals while listening to the customer’s needs and expectations. We strive to achieve and maintain the best possible RPOs and RTOs for our customer’s critical systems as well as closely monitor the underlying recovery infrastructure to insure customers may rapidly failover services into Tierpoint in the event of disasters.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify and implement best practices for recovery services ensuring overall business continuity.
  • Lead the preparation, planning, and execution of rehearsals to ensure readiness and effectiveness.
  • Track and report on the progress of recoveries and rehearsals, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of recovery services runbooks, rehearsals, and related activities.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
  • Provide immediate support and intervention during recovery events to minimize impact and ensure swift resolution.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for support teams to enhance their understanding and capabilities in disaster recovery and all of recovery services.
  • Ensure all recovery activities comply with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Implement and perform QA processes to verify the effectiveness and reliability of recovery implementations, runbooks, declarations, and rehearsals.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve recovery processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage alerts related to recovery systems and processes.
  • Monitor and manage tickets, ensuring timely and effective resolution of issues.
  • Provide quality internal and external customer service in line with company values.
  • Act as a resource for tickets directed to the team, responding promptly to determine and resolve issues.
  • Maintain clear and accurate communication with customers regarding the status of their cases.
  • Escalate issues to senior engineers as needed to ensure steady progress toward resolution.
  • Ensure the successful function of all recovery replication processes.
  • Utilize reporting tools to audit and monitor daily success/fail status, documenting per the ticketing system.
  • Perform environment health checks to ensure all systems and devices are maintained in a ready state.
  • Assist with customer implementations following appropriate training.
  • Plan and execute system updates or upgrade projects in collaboration with customers, senior engineers, and other teams.
  • Actively mentor and support other engineers on the team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Provide support for more complex problem resolution, leveraging advanced product knowledge.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Adequate professional experience and knowledge to perform Job Responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and with others
  • Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications

 

Preferred Experience

  • Three or more years of experience particularly in the data center industry
  • Three or more years of experience with replication technologies such as (Zerto, Veeam, Azure Site Recovery, Azure, Carbonite/Doubletake, VCloud Availability, Nutanix LEAP, Commvault, VMWare Live Site Recovery)
  • Five or more years of experience with Virtualization Hypervisor (VMWare, HyperV)
  • Three or more years of networking experience
  • Scripting and automation experience

It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.
Pay Range $82,114.99- $123,172.49
