Overview

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for developing and executing the strategic sales plan, leading the sales team, and achieving the company’s sales targets within their territory. This role requires a strong leader with a proven track record in B2B sales, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders. 

 

We are seeking a remote candidate for this role. However, applicants must reside in the western half of the United States to ensure alignment with our team and business operations (Preferably: Texas, California, or Washington). 

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the territory annual sales target plus the sales targets of the sales representatives within the team.  
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team, focusing on sales process coaching and quota attainment.  
  • Identify, recommend, implement, and assure best practices are effectively utilized and executed within the team, therefore driving a highly efficient sales process.  
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s market presence.  
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.  
  • Collaborate with marketing, engineers, operations, product, and customer success teams to ensure alignment and drive customer satisfaction.  
  • Monitor individual and team performance, providing regular coaching to achieve and exceed sales quotas.  
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.  
  • Consistent use of sales CRM processes, procedures, and reporting.  
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and budgets to the executive team.  
  • Recruit additional sales personnel as needed.  
  • Provide guidance and evaluate the performance of the sales team.  
  • Establish and communicate the strategic direction of the sales organization, ensuring clarity of company values and objectives.  
  • Participate in, and contribute to, senior leadership strategy sessions and collaborate with peers across the organization with a view toward building a more highly integrated structure. 
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.  
  • Stay informed about industry trends and adjust the sales approach, accordingly, sharing insights with the broader team.  
  • Address and resolve unexpected challenges.  
  • Provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the company values. 
  • Strong financial understanding coupled with business acumen to interpret financial data and take corrective actions to deliver business goals.  
  • A track record of strategic leadership ability to set a course of action and take ownership.  
  • A proven ability to lead, motivate, engage, empower, and ultimately elevate a remote sales team into a high-functioning, high-performance team, and center of excellence.  
  • Possess a leading skill set with strategic planning; has developed long-term growth strategies and identified new market opportunities by leveraging analytical foresight and industry insights.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.  
  • 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.  
  • Deep experience with solutions-based (i.e. consultative) sales.
  • Passionate about success and owning the customer experience from the beginning through contract execution.  
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.  
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.  
  • Eagerness to learn about the company and its clients' businesses.  
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and think on your feet.  
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.  
  • In-depth understanding of industry trends, client challenges, and operational technologies, particularly in the managed services and data center sector.  
  • Ability to operate in a fast-moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines 
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications 

 

Preferred Experience  

  • Prior experience particularly in the data center industry 

 

Working Conditions  

  • Remote or office environment 
  • Ability to travel as needed.  
  • Must reside in the western region of the US (preferably: Washington, Texas, or California)

It’s important to note the pay range may be narrower than displayed, as various factors are used to determine the offered compensation package including skill set, level of experience, geographic locations, and other relevant factors- i.e. budgetary requirements.
Pay Range $192,225.74 - $288,338.61
